When the new Cosumnes River Elementary School (CRES) was constructed it was deemed appropriate to preserve some of the artifacts that had been a part of the original school for about 60 years.

Some Facts:

  • The Rancho Murieta Kiwanis foundation board approved the purchase of the display case.
  • Rancho Murieta Kiwanian Susan Sozzi and her brother Jack graduated from that original school.
  • Rancho Murieta Kiwanian Rosie Blawat is their mom and she had some artifacts to be used for in the display case.

Susan writes: “The bricks were taken from a plastered wall in the old CRES.  The names, timing, and purpose of the names are unknown as of right now.  Principal, Mr. Gulden is still investigating them.  They will most likely become part of a future display about the old CRES.  “The classroom bell was with my Mom. I had the photos, books, and composition manuals.   I am working
to gather as many details as possible.
